Dr. Fouad El Sayyad is a passionate eye surgeon dedicated to restoring and enhancing vision through advanced corneal and refractive techniques. With dual training in Egypt and the United States eh brings a global perspective and deep expertise to every patient he treats.

He is a Consultant in Cornea and Refractive Surgery with extensive training in both Egypt and the United States. After earning his medical degree from Cairo University, he completed a three-year clinical research fellowship at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, focusing on glaucoma and cornea.

He further advanced his training with an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, followed by a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. He was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2018.

Dr. Fouad El Sayyad specializes in 

  • Premium cataract surgery 
  • Keratoconus treatment
  • Corneal transplantation such as PKP (full thickness transplant) , DALK, and DSEAK/DMEK (advanced forms of corneal transplant using ultra-thin donor tissue to transplant the inner layer of the cornea)
  • Variety of refractive surgery procedures, including Femto-LASIK, PRK, Femto-SMILE, and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) implantation (a lens implanted inside the eye to correct vision without removing the natural lens).

His clinical and research interests focus on ocular imaging, keratoconus, and infectious keratitis, and he has over 20 internationally published research articles in the fields of cornea and glaucoma.

Dr. Fouad is currently based in Cairo, where he runs a private practice, offering advanced ophthalmic care to his patients with a focus on improving their vision and quality of life. He works at the Sayyad Eye Center, a leading destination in the center of Cairo for advanced eye care.
